Childproofing Your Home

One of the best things you can do for your child is child-proofing your home before she can walk. This will keep herself out of trouble as well as keep her safe. There are many products out there that help with your child-proofing efforts so check the baby aisle of your local Target or visit a baby store.

Here's a checklist of the basics that will need some childproofing attention:

  •  Power Strips
  • Window Guards
  • Window blind cords
  • Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
  • Cabinets that your wee one can reach
  • Stove knobs
  • Oven lock
  • Toilet seats
  • Tub spout cover
  • Power outlets (use plate covers not plugs - they come off easily)
  • Baby gate
  • Tables
  • Bathroom drawers tour wee one can reach
  • Fireplace
  • Fridge
