DVD is immersed with color and everything is beautifully played out
teaching children to find and create rhythms. With common household
objects like cans, pans and spoons your child can learn to tap the
down-beats to the orchestral pieces played. Two of our mom's sat
with their tots and clapped out beats while playing the DVD and
after a couple repetitions, their children's got the hang of it!
When we asked the children what they liked best, they said the
puppetry, the animation and the cow which teaches time-telling!

The company was
co-founded by Belinda Takahashi, Ph.D. and Adam Adelman, CFA. Dr.
Belinda Takahashi is an award-winning composer whose life has been
one completely immersed in the arts. Raised in Manhattan , Belinda
found early inspiration for the arts from her mother, a dancer, and
her father, a painter. She was concertizing on the piano by age
eight and at ten was engaged in formal composition study with
renowned professors from the Juilliard School and the Curtis
Institute of Music. Wow! She went on to train with soloists from the
Metropolitan Opera in New York City and received her Ph.D. from
Eastman School of Music.
When I saw the DVD
I actually thought to myself, “ah, another ones of these?” But I was
wrong! Juno Baby isn’t like all the rest of the media out their for
young ones. They use electronic sounds in the background to mimic
classical music which is a big thumbs up in my house. Next the
content of the DVD was created based on a study published in the
American Behavioral Scientist which suggests that programs where
“characters speak directly to the child, actively elicit
participation, label objects and provide opportunities to respond,
were positively related to expressive language production and
vocabulary." Lastly, the puppets that interact with children are
performed by alumnae of Fraggle Rock!
