Potty training can be a very difficult time for toddlers but when it's finally accomplished, it's a wonderful time but when a potty-trained child begins to poop in her pants again she may be experiencing encopresis which is a chronic form of constipation that can lead to accidents.
The problem often starts when a child has a painful bowel movement and then begins to hold poop in order to avoid another uncomfortable experience. The stool begins to build up and looser poop leaks around the blockage and over time the child may loose the urge to poop altogether. It's very important to report the problem to your pediatrician straight away.
